The Replace 2D symbol command group replaces the top view representation of the selected object with a specified symbol. The purpose of the commands is to create a clean, easy-to-understand floor plan.
Replace 2D symbol
You can modify the 2D appearance of objects.
You can change the 2D symbol with this command after you place the object .
It can be useful if you wish to assign standard representation that makes the floorplan more understandable.
Note:
1. As a result of the command, the 2D symbol on the selected instance and the library element is changed at the same time. Therefore, the objects placed hereafter will by definition also appear with the new 2D symbol. The command cannot be fully revoked with the Undo command, because the Undo command only applies to the instance, but does not affect the library element. Therefore, the next placed object will still appear with the new 2D symbol.
The command can be completely revoked with the Restore 2D symbol command.
2. The command cannot be applied to factory-protected elements delivered with the installation. In this case, the program offers to make a copy, which may already contain the new 2D symbol.
Replace 2D symbol with box
You can simplify the 2D appearance of objects.
You can change the 2D symbol with this command to a rectangle after you place the object .
It can be useful when the 2D representation is too complex and makes difficult to understand the floorplan.
To change symbol shape, do the following:
Select the object, and add a new name or select an existing name from the vocabulary dialog.
If you add a partial object name and assign a group from the library the program will automatically apply it when the new object is downloaded or created and the name matches.
Management of 2D symbol vocabulary
You can assign your own floor plan symbol to the words stored in the dictionary.
Its purpose is to modify the top view created by the program when the object is imported..
If the name of the imported object partially or fully matches one of the names stored in the dictionary,
the program automatically creates the new library element with the floor plan symbol stored in the dictionary.
Exchange all symbols by vocabulary
The program scans all objects.
If the name of an object partially or fully matches one of the names stored in the dictionary,
the program automatically replaces the floor plan symbol with the symbol assigned in the dictionary.
Restore 2D symbol
You can restore the 2D representation of modified objects to their original state.
Define 2D contour for fills
Display 2D Fills. If the outer boundary is not closed and therefore cannot be filled, the program calculates
automatically the nearest two closed contours in a dialog.
Note: If neither solution is suitable, click the Edit button and you can edit the profile placed on the floor plan.
