This guide will teach you all the steps required to create a Section, Callout, Elevation and Wallview symbol using standard ARCHLine.XP tools. (ARCHLine.XP 2021)
This guide applies to creating the Section symbol, but can also be used to create the Callout, Elevation and Wallview symbols.
1. Create the shape of the new symbol using line, arc, hatch, etc. tools.
2. Add these parameters
ARCHLine.XP using special parameter to visualize different contents:
$L_ID means Letter ID - Alphanumeric value to display section number
$_Sht means Sheet nr. - To display the sheet number where the section view is in the PDF documentation (Optional)
$D_ID means DETAIL note - to display additional information is necessary (Optional)
The section letter or number will be displayed in $L_ID (A,B,1,2) and sheet number is displayed in $_sht (e.g A-003)
3. Use the Drafting - Group - Create group in Library tool to create a library element
Go to the Drafting - Group - Create group in Library.
Select the shape elements and the text elements.
Specify the reference point(s) - It is recommended to enter the first point as the primary reference point and to enter another reference point horizontally if you want to alternate them.
4- Define the name of the new library item and the category / Sub category
5. Go to Documentation - Section Settings and check on the Section head and press the button to select the new default section head symbol.

6. How to modify the parameters on the drawing?
Right click on section and choose the Edit text in Group command.
Change the value fields and press Ok.
