ARCHLine.XP allows you to draw each wall to the approximate length you want and then use temporary dimensions to place the walls exactly. This method makes the arrangement of walls and the placement and placement of doors and windows more fluid than specifying each wall length separately when creating them.
In this article, we'll show you how to accurately position your walls with this feature using a simple example.
1. To adjust a wall's position relative to another wall
For this first example, we will use a simple 4-walled rectangular structure as shown below.
- Select the wall on the left with a single click.
- Press and hold SHIFT or CTRL and select the wall on the right with a single click.
- When you do, you should see temporary dimension display.
When you move the cursor to this temporary size, the mouse cursor changes from an arrow to an index finger. Click on the dimension value and now you can enter in the new distance you need and press Enter/Return on the keyboard to accept the change.
The wall will move to the left or right to accommodate the new distance.
2. The relative displacement of the wall position
In this example, we will use a more complex example, as shown below.
- Select the wall on the left with a single click.
- Click on the anchor marker and select the Move command
- Move the cursor to the left or right near to horizontal.
- You click on the drawing or you can enter the shift distance you need ( e.g. 1500mm) and press Enter/Return on the keyboard to accept the change.
