Each project is made up of objects, with added lights and textures they can become lifelike. The location and size of objects within a project can be changed in several ways, including the Object properties dialog. Various animations can be used to bring scenes to life, which can also be set for each object individually in this dialog.
General properties
General properties allow you to change the position, size and orientation of the selected object. The axes are assigned different colors (they are easily identifiable when the move cursor is activated), so it is possible to click on the arrow next to each icon to modify the object along each axis individually. There are several ways to change the value: hold down the left mouse button and move the mouse sideways or type the value into the field.
Move: the default setting moves the element along the Z (blue) axis. Click on the icon to move the object along the X and Y (green and red) axes with a specified value or the mouse.
Scale: by default, the object is scaled equally in all axes. By turning off the padlock, it is possible to treat the axes separately and modify the object with individual values in each direction.
Rotation: rotates the object around the Z (blue) axis by default. Click on the icon to rotate the element along the other axes.
Interactive animation
When on, objects appear or disappear from the scene depending on the camera position. Consequently, interactive animation is a feature that is only available when editing the Camera animation. When the Camera animation dialog is turned off or when switching to another command, the interactive animation of objects is turned off. You can set the interactive animation for each object individually or you can set the same animation for selected elements by group selection.
On/Off: the interactive animation that appears during the camera animation can be activated or deactivated in the object properties.
Display mode: there are four interactive animations to choose from, which make the element visible in the Camera animation according to the scene.
- Pop up: the object reaches its final size and position by continuously growing.
- Pop up & twist: the object reaches its final size and position by growing continuously while rotating around its axis.
- Ascend: the object appears in its original position, rising from the bottom up. Its size does not change during animation.
- Drop: the object appears in its original position, falling from the top down. Its size does not change during animation.
Speed: change the playback speed of the interactive animation. A value less than 1 makes the animation slower, a value greater than 1 makes it faster.
Radius: you can set the distance from the centre of the object, which if the camera crosses during the camera animation, the set interactive animation will be played. When the camera comes within the set radius sphere, the object appears with animation. When it moves outside the area, the object disappears with animation.
Object animation
You can bring your projects to life by setting animations for objects. Animations are fully customisable, individually set for each object. Object animation is a feature available in all views. For snapshots, objects are rendered in the position they were in when the snapshot was created.
Human animation
The humans in the object library, which have a play icon on their icon, have special animations of several movements. These motion animations can be selected from a drop-down list in the dialog, each of which contains a preset motion type and associated animation speed.
Path animation
You can set the path of an object animation by specifying its route. By navigating in the model you can click on surfaces to place the main points of the route, which are then automatically connected to create the path. After placing the route, you can change or delete the location of the points by pressing the move or delete command. You can define new points on the route by clicking on the icon next to the line. The first point on the path is always the original location of the object, from where the animation starts.
Managing the animation:
- Stop: when the animation stops playing, the object jumps back to its original position.
- Start/pause: by starting the animation, you can view the animation of the object. When paused, the object stops at the point on the set path when the button is pressed.
- Continuous play: when on, the object animation will restart when it reaches the end of the path. When off, the object moves along the path once and then stops at the end. The continuous playback function must be enabled to play the animation repeatedly.
Speed: you can set the animation speed here. The animation speed is independent of the length and direction of the path.
Play direction:
- Forward: the object moves along the path from the start point to the end point.
- Reverse: the object moves along the path from the end point to the start point.
- Ping-pong: starting from the start point, the object moves along the path to the end point and then, when it reaches the end point, it moves back to the start point.
Delete: delete the path animation assigned to the object.
Closed path: the start and end points are automatically connected by LIVE, creating a fully circumnavigable route. By specifying two points (start and end), you can create a perfectly circular route.
Follow path: the direction of the object follows the direction of the path, so you can assign lifelike animations to humans, for example.
Lock vertically: if the object is not in a vertical position when the animation is playing, this feature will set the object to a vertical position.
Rotate: the object can be given a unique orientation while the animation is playing by setting a rotation here. The amount of rotation is relative to the object's original orientation throughout the animation. If the Follow path option is enabled, the set rotation will track the rotation of the object's original direction.
The control buttons at the bottom of the dialog are used to manage all the animations available in the project in a unified way. This makes it much easier to manage animations when many different ones are placed within the project.
Play all animations: is used to start all object animations in a uniform way.
Freeze all animations: all object animations stop at the position they were at when the freeze button was pressed.
Reset and stop all animations: all object animation stops and the objects jump back to their original positions.
Vertical animation
When defining the path of the animation, the program automatically constrains the points of the animation to the vertical line in the object's position, so you can easily specify a vertically oriented object animation.
Managing the animation:
- Stop: when the animation stops playing, the object jumps back to its original position.
- Start/pause: by starting the animation, you can view the animation of the object. When paused, the object stops at the point on the set path when the button is pressed.
