This command creates the dimensioning of an object so that the dimension line crosses a selected point and is parallel with the object or either horizontal or vertical.

General properties

On this tab you can set the display properties of the dimension line and the text, as well as the position of the text in relation to the dimension line.

Arrowheads

Use this tab to set the display properties of the arrowheads.

Format properties

This tab allows you to set the format of the dimension line, the unit of measurement used and to set different dimension texts that override the displayed text. You can also set the upper text and its position here.

By enabling Distance and bearing, the program automatically displays the rotation angle relative to the horizontal. By switching between the length format and the bearing angle format, it is possible to assign individual parameters to both values.

Dimension line

If you turn off the dimension line, the program displays only the extension lines. The display of the extension lines (extension lines 1 and 2) can be handled individually, which means that you can switch on or off both sides separately or switch them both off and they disappear from the drawing completely.

When placing a dimension line, two points are specified which define the distance to be measured, and then the dimension line is placed at a given distance from the two reference points. The fixed length extension line calculates the length of the extension line from the dimension line, so when this value is adjusted, the length of the dimension line is always the same as the set value. This means that the reference points defined at the time of placement are not taken into account when calculating the length of the extension lines. The distance from the reference point, on the other hand, determines the distance between the reference points and the end of the extension lines.

Note: You have the option to set different lengths for the two extension lines on the floor plan. When setting a new extension line length in the Dimension dialog the graphically set values will be overridden by it and both extension lines will be set to the same length.
