This overview explains how ARCHLine.XP releases work, what “updates” mean, and the options you have to stay current.
What counts as an update?
ARCHLine.XP ships two kinds of releases:
-
Major releases (Yearly Upgrades): big feature updates and fixes marked by a change in the year number (e.g., 2024 → 2025).
-
Minor releases: incremental builds for the current year that add small features and high-priority fixes (identified by “Release vYYMMDD / Build ###”).
How you receive future versions
You can stay up to date through perpetual + upgrades/maintenance or via subscription:
-
Perpetual license: you own the current year’s version for life. Future years are not included; to get them you either buy an upgrade or sign a Maintenance Agreement. (Perpetual purchases include free support for the first year.) help.archlinexp.com
-
Maintenance Agreement (optional add-on): covers the year’s main version and grants perpetual right of use to that year’s release, plus support during the term. Upgrading remains optional, but skipping multiple years can make a later upgrade more expensive. help.archlinexp.com
-
Subscription: always includes the latest version and support for the subscription period; the software is not usable when the term ends. help.archlinexp.com
Regional notes (example: Hungary)
In Hungary, the Maintenance Agreement is calendar-year based (Jan 1–Dec 31), auto-renews, and has a 90-day cancellation window for the next year; details and wording may vary by region/contract. archline.hu+1
Release cadence & practicalities
-
Latest build includes prior fixes: when you install the newest update for your current year, it contains all earlier patches for that year. You can check your exact build under Help → About. help.archlinexp.com
-
Download Center & release notes: use the official update pages to fetch installers and read build notes. archlinexp.com
-
Plugins may require minimum versions: e.g., recent D5 plug-in builds must be v41+; older versions are blocked until updated. help.archlinexp.com
Support snapshot
Purchasing a Professional license or an upgrade includes free support for the first year; other cases may be billable—check regional terms. archlinexp.com
Choosing the right path
-
You upgrade every year: Maintenance (or subscription) keeps you current with less admin. help.archlinexp.com
-
You upgrade occasionally: Perpetual + occasional paid upgrade when a major release aligns with your needs (upgrade pricing depends on the gap between your version and the new one). archlinexp.comarchline.hu
Key takeaways
-
Major = new year; minor = in-year builds.
-
Perpetual covers this year; future years via upgrade or maintenance; subscription always includes latest. help.archlinexp.com
-
Regional maintenance terms can be calendar-based with auto-renewal and notice periods.
