Right-click the Drawing toolbar - Hatch tool icon or select Drawing menu - Properties - Hatch.
General properties
Set the general properties of the hatch: layer, colour, line type, line thickness, and priority (Display order).
Note:
If the same priority is used, the program plots the hatch first and then all other 2D elements.
Hatch
ARCHLine.XP offers four types of hatches:
Opacity
- Solid
- Gradient
- Pattern
- Material
Solid
The specified area is filled with a uniform colour.
Pattern
It gives the pattern of the hatch. In the Hatch properties dialog box that appears, you can choose from a number of predefined patterns (architectural markings: brickwork, stone, pebble, etc. patterns: ceramics, wall patterns, etc.) by clicking on the name or image of the hatch. The values given for the row and column define the dimensions of a unit of the pattern in the two main directions.
Pattern properties:
Property | Description |
Angle |
Specify the direction of the hatch lines (or symbol lines) in degrees (relative to the horizontal direction) |
Hatch spacing (Y axis) |
Specifies the distance between the hatch lines (in the drawing unit). The distance between the lines is in the y direction perpendicular to the hatch direction. |
Dash length (X axis) |
Specifies the distance between the hatch lines (in the drawing unit). The distance between the lines is in the x direction parallel to the hatch direction. |
Background colour |
The filled colour of the hatch in case the hatch contains pattern lines. |
Transparency | The transparent hatch property means that the background colour of the hatch is transparent, as well as the filled colour. The colour will then be faded. |
Row spacing: 150 mm Angle: 45° Background colour: grey Colour: black Column spacing: 250 mm |
Note:
The drawing unit can be set in File - Options - Units and angles.
Example for using transparent hatches:
In the case of site plans, it may be necessary, for example, to merge plots. This can be represented by hatches. However, under the hatch we must indicate the original state.
Gradient
Property | Description |
Gradient type | Linear, Centric, Conical, Square. |
Angle | Specify the direction of the hatch lines |
Division | Specifies the density of the hatching. |
Color from and to | Specify the colour interval. |
Origin | It defines the origin of the light. (This is the focal point of the shaded hatching.) |
Material
To use Hatch material with fill, select the Material option in the Hatch properties window and click the Change button to select the material.
Once you have selected the material, you can set the origin of the assignment using the Origin option.
Border
You can adjust whether the hatching frame is visible.
This property is useful when hatching an area enclosed by an imaginary polygon. The hatch boundary has independent properties.
To be able to make the settings, you must enable the Boundary line visible option. In the dialog box that appears, you can set the colour, line type and line thickness of the hatch border.
