Object Templates contain a group of objects and meta data (i.e. descriptive data or behavioral data) that enables to quickly change 2D and 3D geometry. Object Templates act as an “assembly” that is saved in the library once and used multiple times. Unlike a normal static object, you can quickly change its components and appearance. Each instance of the Object Templates can be adjusted to display different visibility states, 2D representation in floorplan and 3D view.
Click New Object Template in the ribbon menu, then select the objects in the design that you want to place in the template. After pressing enter, select the primary item and save the template to the library.
It is also possible to edit objects in a template. This can be done in the Object Template Wizard dialog with the following options:
Name | Description |
Replace 2D Symbol | The symbol of the selected object can be replaced with another 2D group selected from the library. |
Replace the object with another | Replace the object with another library item. |
Replace similar | Replace elements similar to the selected object (if there are several of the same element in the template) with another object. |
Delete | Delete the selected object from the template. |
Delete similar | Delete items similar to the selected object (if there are several of the same item in the template) from the template. |

View selector | Click on the buttons to display a 3D view of the object from different directions. Display modes: top view, front view, side view (left), back view, side view (right), bottom view. |
New hotspot | It is possible to add new hotspot to objects. |
Hotspot selector | Use the blue arrows to switch between the existing hotspots. |
Add new hotspot | Use the green + sign to add a new hotspot, which can be aligned to the exact position in the 3D preview. Switching between different views allows you to fine-tune the position of the hotspot. |
Delete hotspot | Delete a hotspot already placed. |
Finalize hotspot | Add a new hotspot to the object after setting its exact location in the 3D view. |
Discarding hotspot | Interrupt the placement of a new hotspot. |
Save as | When you have finished making changes, you can save the new object template to the directory by clicking Save As. |
Editing icons appear on the floor plan and in the 3D view when you select the object template. The primary object and secondary object icons are different. The primary object cannot be deleted from the template.
