Surveying with point cloud tools is now a quick and easy process. The real difficulty is creating a BIM building model from point cloud.
The new Wall Detection tool reduces the time required to create a model to a fraction, enabling point clouds to be utilised in the architectural/BIM space.
Wall Detection tools gives you the ability to detect walls precisely from point cloud.
Scan to Model scenario for Walls:
Plane detection is a prerequisite to process efficiently a point cloud in architecture. The right method could avoid detecting wrong planes due to the complex geometry of the point cloud data.
Wall Detection tools gives you the ability to detect walls precisely from point Cloud.
It takes 3 clicks to create the wall.
1. After specifying the building floor structure the Wall Detection HV command helps to indentify the main walls of the building.
Note:
Use this command if the main walls are in the X, Y axis direction on the floor plan. If the main direction of the walls is not parallel to the axes, it is a good idea to rotate the point cloud in this direction on the floor plan before converting.
2. Select the surface on point cloud parallel to the wall. The cursor displays the surface found during mouse tracking. Accept the surface judged to be correct by left-clicking the mouse..
3. Click on the first point of the wall.
4. Click on the endpoint of the wall. The wall is created on the floor plan and in the 3D view following the specified plane.
