The Project Base Point (PBP) defines the local coordinate system (0,0,0) for your building model.
It serves as a reference for internal measurements, modeling views, and aligning files between different disciplines (e.g., architecture, MEP, and structural).
Key Functions of the Project Base Point
Internal Reference (0,0,0): It establishes the starting point for your model’s internal dimensions and spot coordinates.
Orientation: It sets the angle difference between Project North (your modeling view) and True North (the actual geographic orientation).
Elevation: It provides a base (0,0,0) elevation that levels and floor plans can reference, allowing you to easily display heights above sea level. It means Elevation = Sea level.
Display Coordinate Origin Points
The Project Base Point and the Internal Origin Point appear in the floor plan view.
By default, both coordinate origins are turned on. You can make them visible or hidden as needed.
- Open File - Options panel
On the Graphics tab scroll down to Drawing Settings and expand it.
To display the project base point, click on the checkbox Project Base Point.
To display the internal origin, select Internal Origin.
