The geographic location specifies the model's real-world location using global coordinates (world coordinate system).
ARCHLine.XP uses the geographic location as follows:
- To define the location of the model on the Earth's surface.
- Geographic location determines the movement of the sun and the appearance of lights and shadows.
The geographic location does not affect the following:
- Project base point and Project North orientation.
When you create a model, you can specify its geographic location using the address, nearest major city, or latitude and longitude.
Google Maps
Using Google Maps, you can locate your project exactly on the planet using GPS coordinates.
The project location is represented by a placemark on the Google Maps.
1. Click Search box and type your address.
2. Click Project’s Location to update your location.
Predefined city list
The dialog box displays a list of major cities with characteristic images. You can set the position of the sun depending on the geographical location, the date and time. ARCHLine.XP automatically displays the longitude and latitude of the selected city, as well as the zenith and azimuth values.
No internet connection is required.
