ARCHLine.XP offers 3 primary tools to model stairs.
1. Stair by treads,
2. Stair by boundary,
3. Floating stairs.
1. The stair by treads method assigns the rising to each stair step contour and creates the stair. The step contours must be pre-drawn with 2D tools like lines and arcs connected.

2. Creating a stair by sketching the right and left side boundary in a plan view. The arms must be pre-drawn with 2D tools like lines and arcs connected.
3. The term “floating stairs” is used to describe a stair with treads that are supported in a way to look as if they “float” in space. This can include a single stringer, double stringer or hidden stringer for supporting the stair treads. The stringer can be placed on the center line, on the right and/or left side of the stair.
