Storey (level bounded) parameters allow you to define and update automatically the base and height of elements.
The bounded term means associated base and height constraint of architectural elements such as walls , slabs, columns, beams, etc. can be similarly constrained.
Using bounded parameters allows flexibility and accuracy in modeling, e.g. you can use the same wall style on storeys with different heights such as base floor with 3.8m, and upper floors with 3m.
When the storey height changes, all bounded elements automatically update their elevation and height.
For all stories, six story level parameters can be assigned:
- FF - Finish Floor
- TS - Top of Structure
- BS - Bottom of Structure
- CE - False Ceiling
- LE - Ledge
- FH - Floor height
Some examples of references:
- BS +500 mm means the Bottom of Structure on current story + 500 mm
- (1)BS + 150 means the Bottom of Structure of the next story + 150 mm
Applying this method the elements e.g wall layers are linked to one of the 6 story level parameters that determines its true height. When the story height changes, all bounded walls automatically update their height.
When you set up the wall properties, the top and bottom of each wall layer can be set to fixed value or a story level parameter.
The story level dialog determines the value of the 6 story level parameters. You can assign various elevation offsets to every story, e.g. Finish floor can be 50mm on Ground floor but 35mm on first and second floor.
When you change any of the 6 story level parameters, the model follows the modifications and all bounded walls automatically update their height.
It is important to know that when you add a new level, the story level parameters are inherited from the active level to the new level.
