Curtain Walls contains most properties of a standard window complemented by wall features.
A curtain wall is a special wall that includes:
- Mullions. Mullions are elements that can be created on each curtain grid segment, as well as on each curtain wall border.
- Panels (glasses). Panels are rectangular elements located between each curtain grids.
- Frame. Frame division can be horizontal or vertical.
- Corner mullion
Like walls, doors and windows can be inserted into curtain walls. Because the curtain wall works based on the wall tool, tools for editing the wall, such as resizing, editing, or fitting, can be used. Curtain walls behave in the same way as normal walls for slab and roof joints.
Create a curtain wall
Location: Building - Curtain Wall - Curtain Wall
1. Enter the starting point.
2a. Move the mouse and click to specify the end point or
2b. Move your mouse horizontally * and type the length of the wall, then press Enter.
* By default, the program recognizes horizontal, vertical, and 45-degree directions, indicated by a green dashed line.
Embedding a curtain wall in a wall
Location: Building - Curtain Wall - Embed a curtain wall into a wall
The curtain wall is embedded in a wall like a window.
The shape of the curtain wall can be drawn in the frontal view of the selected wall.
1. Select the wall where you want to draw the curtain wall.
2. Position the wall view on the floor plan.
3. Draw the shape of the window by drawing a closed polyline.
4. In the dialog that appears, set the properties of the curtain wall.
Corner window editing
Location: Building - Curtain Wall - Corner Window Edit
You can draw a corner window on the expanded image of the selected wall connection.
1. Select the wall closer to the end point where you plan the corner window.
2. Position the wall view on the floor plan.
3. Draw the contour of the corner window with a closed polyline.
4. Set the properties of one of the pages.
5. Set the properties of the other page.
Curtain wall by 2 points
Location: Building - Curtain Wall - Curtain Wall by 2 points
You can place a curtain wall graphically by specifying the width.
1. Enter one of the extreme points of the curtain wall.
2. Enter the other extreme point of the curtain wall.
Convert Wall to Curtain Wall
Location: Building - Curtain Wall - Convert Wall To Curtain Wall
You can convert a selected wall to a curtain wall that matches the current settings.
1. Select the wall you want to turn into a curtain wall.
Edit Layout
Location: Building - Curtain Wall - Edit Layout
This command can be used to edit the geometry and components of a curtain wall.
In the layout markers are displayed to enable editing menus.
Depending on clicking frame nodes, frame edges or mullion edges different commands appear.
Node
You can modify the height of the node closest to the entry point.
Frame edge
You can modify the geometry, e.g adding a new node to the edge.
Mullions
You can move it, make a copy, or move all the mullions to the left or right together.
