Exporting Drawing Files to PDF

You can generate a PDF file from many views such as floorplan, layout, section and elevation.
PDF includes layer information and you can browse the file by layers in Adobe Acrobat® or similar application.

There are several ways to generate PDF files in ARCHLine.XP. This guideline helps you choose the most appropriate method.

Export a drawing file to PDF preserving layers 

Location: File > Export > PDF

Configuring PDF export settings

Export PDF dialog box allows you to control the settings used to create the PDF file. For most cases, using the default values should produce a usable file, but you can set export options to create output for specific requirements.

PDF export preserves layers used in ARCHLine.XP, the visibility of which in a PDF application (such as Acrobat Reader) can be controlled in a panel. You can also set elements on hidden layers to be printed during export.

Hatch is exported as bitmap. Hatch bitmap resolution controls DPI resolution for images created during hatch export.
Vector Resolution sets the resolution for vector graphics in DPI.
There is a separate Image resolution option for compressing raster portions of the PDF.
Color and grayscale images resolution in DPI cannot exceed Vector Resolution value.

Apply phase graphic override option exports the elements with current appearance (color, fill).

Ignore invisible layers option does not export items on currently switched off layers.

Linearize PDF is a special format of a PDF file that makes faster the viewing on the web.

Watermark text can be added with a set of parameters such as alignment, transparency and font.
