The Navigation Cube (NaviCube) is a clickable and mouse-operated interactive 3D control that provides visual feedback about the current orientation of the 3D model and allows you to quickly switch between different views (e.g., top, side, axonometric, or perspective).
Clicking on the sides, edges, or corners of the cube instantly jumps the program to the appropriate view. Moving it provides real-time feedback, so you can easily track how the model is turning. The navigation cube is especially useful for complex projects when you need to quickly switch between different 3D views.
When you move the mouse over the navigation cube, the surfaces and edges are colored. In this case, clicking on the colored surface switches the camera to the view indicated on the cube.
It also provides a unified, familiar interface that users may be familiar with from other CAD or BIM software.
Location: depending on the setting, in the upper left or right corner of the 3D view.
Visibility: Display of navigation cube can be turned on/off in File menu - Options - User interface
Hovering over the navigation cube will display three icons below it:
The default axonometric view is restored.
The view settings for the current 3D window are available here.

How it works
The navigation cube typically appears in the upper right corner of the 3D view. General view settings are available here in one place. The settings you specify here always apply to the current 3D window.
By selecting the main views, the 3D model moves to a predefined position: here we distinguish between the real and the view corresponding to the project cardinal points.
The saved views menu contains user perspective views.
Switch to a preset view: Move the cursor over the ViewCube and click on a specific face, edge, or corner to align it to the predefined orientation (e.g., click on the “Top” face).
- Freely move the view: Click and hold the mouse over the navigation cube, then drag the mouse to rotate around the model (“bow ball” effect).
Left-clicking and holding the navigation cube rotates the 3D model around the default rotation origin (which is the model origin). This origin can be moved anywhere in the model by opening the view options and launching the Rotation Center command.
- By right-clicking or holding down the navigation cube with the mouse wheel, you can rotate the 3D model around the Z axis using the Rotation Center. In this mode, the Z axis is fixed.
- Return to default axonometric view: Click on the small “Cottage” icon that appears near the ViewCube. The view will revert to the default axonometric view.
Settings and visibility
You can customize the appearance and behavior of the ViewCube to suit your needs.
To show or hide the ViewCube: In the File menu - Options - User Interface, turn the ViewCube checkbox on/off.
Settings dialog:
Location: in the upper left or right corner of the 3D view.
Size and transparency: In the Settings dialog, you can change its size (tiny, small, medium, large, automatic) and transparency level when inactive.
Animated transition when switching views:: Provides a smooth, smooth motion when switching views.
Hide Navicube: Navicube will not appear on the view if the view width is less than the specified number of pixels
Page color: the color of Navicube pages can be changed.
Edge color: : the color of the Navicube corners can be changed.
Mindent alaphelyzetbe: Reset All: Applies default settings to the ViewCube.
