When you open an image file, the file becomes an integral part of the current drawing.
Changes made to the referenced file are reflected in the current drawing when you open or reload it.
Key Methods for Importing Images:
1. Import Command (Ribbonbar): Drafting > Raster Image > Place.
This opens the Settings dialog, allows for precise positioning, and manages the image as an attached element.
2. Drag and Drop: Simply drag an image file from a folder directly into the ARCHLine.XP view.
3. Copy & Paste: E.g. from Paint. Select an image or a part of an image and press Ctrl+C. Go to ARCHLine.XP and use Edit > Paste > Paste btmap from clipboar to paste it into ARCHLine.XP.
1. Import Command (Ribbonbar): Drafting > Raster Image > Place.
The Image Import Settings dialog box appears.
List of dialog options:
| Name | The image name you have selected to attach. |
| Browse | Opens the standard file selection dialog box. |
| Path | Displays the path where the image file is located. |
| Path Type | Select the absolute (full) path, the relative path to the image file, or Attached (embedded). The default path type is Attached. Full path: A full path is a fully specified hierarchy of folders that locates the image file reference. A full path includes the drive letter of the local hard drive or mapped network server. This is the most specific, but also the least flexible, option. Relative Path: Path specified with Relative Path option assumes the current drive letter or the folder of the host drawing. This is very flexible option and allows you to move a project and the image from the current drive to another drive that uses the same folder structure. |
| Preview | Displays the image that you have selected |
| Insertion Point | Specifies the insertion point for the selected image file. The default insertion point is 0,0. |
| X | Sets the X coordinate value. |
| Y | Sets the Y coordinate value. |
| Size | Specifies the size of the selected image in current drawing unit. Specify On-Screen means user input size. |
| Rotation | The rotation angle value. The default rotation angle is 0. Specify On-Screen means user input specifies the rotation angle. |
| Resolution | Displays the number of horizontal and vertical pixels of the image |
| Transparency | Controls the transparency of the image. Attention! With the same value in the Draw order, the image file has lower priority than the drawing elements, meaning the drawing elements will be visible. |
