If you are working in 3D, you may need to change the work plane to place and edit objects with the correct location and orientation.
Commands:
Reset origin | Restores the default workplane based on the WCS (World Coordinate System). |
Activate global workplane | Sets the workplane based on the WCS (World Coordinate System). |
Workplane by face | Sets the workplane according to the coordinate system of a selected face. |
Workplane by 3 points |
Sets the workplane to fit three points. |
Vertical workplane | Vertical work plane can be set by specifying two points. |
Horizontal workplane | Horizontal work plane can be set by specifying a point. |
New origin | Offset the workplane parallel to the current workplane, by relocating the origin. |
Shift along X axis | Shift workplane from the global origin along the X axis perpendicular to the YZ plane. |
Shift along Y axis | Shift workplane from the global origin along the Y axis perpendicular to the XZ plane. |
Shift along X axis by distance | Shift workplane with a distance along the Z axis perpendicular to the XY plane. |
Shift along X axis by a point | Shift workplane along the Z axis perpendicular to the XY plane. |
Rotate around X axis 90 Ccw | Rotate the workplane around the X axis counterclockwise. |
Rotate around X axis 90 cw | Rotate the workplane around the X axis clockwise. |
Rotate around Y axis 90 Ccw | Rotate the workplane around the Y axis counterclockwise. |
Rotate around Y axis 90 cw | Rotate the workplane around the Y axis clockwise. |
Rotate around Z axis | Rotate the workplane around the Z axis. |
Opposite side | Reverse the direction of the normal vektor perpendicular to the workplane. The interior and the exterior face of the workplane can be reversed this way. |
Use previous | Restores the previous workplane. |
Set view perpendicular to workplane | The workplane is turned so that it is parallel to the view plane. The Z axis becomes perpendicular to the view. |
