Point Cloud Properties

This value refers to the upper limit of how many 3D points are used when generating a 2D floor‑plan from a point cloud. 
It is a processing limit — a cap on how many points from the original point cloud can be loaded, analyzed, or projected into the floor‑plan extraction pipeline.

The minumum number of points is 1,000 Points. 
The maximum number of points  is 80,000,000 Points. 

Use the command High-density floor plan representation to increase density in a specified localized area on floor plan.

The maximum number of points per voxel sets how many points are allowed to remain inside each voxel.
The maximum number of points in a voxel is 10,000,000 Points. 
The minumum number of points in a voxel is 1,000 Points. 

What is a voxel?

A voxel is a 3D grid cell (the 3D equivalent of a pixel). When a point cloud is voxelized, the software divides space into small cubes and assigns points to the cube they fall into. 
ARCHLine.XP uses a fix 20x20x20 3D grid cell.

By default the processed point cloud is continuously saved in a temporary cache file with .APC extension under the project directory.  The advantage of this solution is easier portability of the project to other computers.

When Disc space saver mode is active ARCHLine.XP always refers to the cache file with .APC extension alongside the original point cloud file.  The advantage of this solution is that only one temporary cache file is created on the disk. 
Warning! If other projects are working with the same pointcloud it's recommended to switch off "Disc space saver mode". 
 

A geolocated point cloud is a 3D dataset where every point has XYZ coordinates tied to a global coordinate system (e.g., WGS84).  It  means that each 3D point is stored with real‑world geographic coordinates (usually latitude, longitude, and elevation)

Example
A drone scans a building:
Raw point cloud: building shape, but no idea where it is.
Geolocated point cloud: building is at 47.4979° N, 19.0402° E, elevation 105 m — so it fits perfectly on a Budapest map.
